Have you ever heard the saying; you are what you eat?

Well, there is a similar though I have about life and that is that we are what we think.

What do I mean by this? Keep reading and I will explain.

Ever since I was young, my daily life has been constantly filled with things to do. As a kid, I had shores to do; I had to complete projects, do homework, study for exams, and worry about what to wear among hundreds of other things. And this is just the beginning…

As I got older, my responsibilities continued to pile up. I was trapped in daily routines and tasks that just continued to add up. My priorities were always on completing the tasks that society expected me to do. Yet I failed to take time to give my mind and body a well-deserved rest.

Body builders work very hard to get in competition shape. They shed tears, sweat and blood every day at the gym to reach their goal. But there is also something else they do a lot of; they rest. They understand the principle that in order for the body to generate muscle, we have to give those muscles rest.

This is why they work on different parts of their body every day, and give the rest of their body plenty of rest. Most take a day off in between every workout. To build muscle you have to tear the muscle down, and then you have to let your body heal that muscle.

When the muscle is regenerated, it grows bigger and stronger. But if you continue to work on the same muscle without the proper rest, that muscle will eventually grow weaker, and with time, it will stop working.

The same thing happens to our brain. We are so busy trying to cope with all the things and tasks in our lives that we often forget to rest our mind. We continue to buy TVs, cars, clothing, electronics and other things that occupy more and more of our lives yet we rarely take the time to rest and find peace.

Just like muscles degenerate without rest, so does our mind.

So how do we fix this? Here are a few suggestions:

Clean out your clutter

Stop buying more and more things, and instead sell the things you already have and don’t truly need. If your house is filled with crap, so is your mind. When was the last time you bought something you used once, and it now sits in your garage or somewhere around your house collecting dust. In life, sometimes less is more.

Eliminate your clutter and make some space around your home. If you can’t sell it, donate it. Once you do this, you will begin to feel better about yourself and wonder why the heck you bought so much crap in the first place. You could be using all that money to live your dreams instead.

Take time to yourself every single day

Nothing in this world is more important that you, period. Take time to relax and be thankful. I have developed a routine that has helped me immensely and here is what I do:

I always make a to-do list right before I go to sleep. On this list I write the things that I must complete during the next day. I sort them in order of importance and I make sure I plan accordingly and I never overload myself with things.

When I wake up in the morning, I immediately jump out of bed. I have noticed that getting up immediately instead of giving myself the popular “5 more minutes” treatment gives me a boost of energy and gets my mind going in a positive way.

Be grateful and your brain will be grateful to you

Once I’m up, I put on some music and I take between 5 – 15 minutes to think about all the things I have to be grateful for. As corny as it might sound, this has been one of the best routines I have added to my life. I have found that when I start my day feeling truly grateful, it takes a lot (and I mean a lot…) to get me in a negative mood.

I then look at my to-do list and go about my day completing this list as soon as I can. Being more organized has given me more time and clarity of mind to occupy my life with other tasks that I actually look forward to doing.

Meditation is the key to your mind and soul

It seems that every step I take to improve my quality of life acts as an additional driving force for improvement, sort of like a snow ball effect. My gratefulness routine has led me into meditation, and I now meditate for around 30 minutes every day. This gives me an immense sense of peace and clarity of mind, and allows me to focus on what’s important for that day.

I used to work over 100 hours a week, and then I came home to a few more hours of personal work and problem solving. I didn’t believe it was possible at first, but somehow, I found time to implement some simple changes, which have led me to huge changes in my life.

I no longer watch the news and yet I always seem to know what’s going on around the world. I hear it from other people who let TV consume their lives.

I found new ways to earn money and I no longer work 100 hours a week. I now use that time for me and my family. I have not won the lottery nor am I monetarily rich. I simply have taken the time to take care of my mind, and I now spend my time turning my dreams into reality.

Start taking care of your mind today, and I assure you, your mind and life will thank you for it. You only live once and no one else can live life for you.

I hope you enjoyed this article, if you did, please share it.

Until next time, live strong and live with passion!

Recent studies have found that beetroots can help improve memory loss and combat dementia. Wake Forest University recently published an article saying , “There have been several very high-profile studies showing that drinking beet juice can lower blood pressure, but we wanted to show that drinking beet juice also increases perfusion, or blood flow, to the brain”.

How does it work?

Beets help convert bacteria in the mouth into nitrites. Nitrites have been known to improve circulation to the brain and other parts of the body. During a recent study of adults above the age of 70, nitrates were found to improve concentration by increasing blood and oxygen flow to the brain

Best way to eat beets:

Beets have a unique texture, somewhere between crunchy and soft. It has a slight sweet taste to it and it is great when combined with salads. The best way to increase your beets intake is by juicing because it allows you to consume larger amounts of beets in one meal.

# 3 – Sage

Sage is a very common herb used for cooking, but it has a much greater power than just adding flavor to your meals. Studies conducted by Newcastle and North Umbria Universities found that the subjects who consumed sage oil pills showed a significant increase in brain performance and memory recollection.

How does Sage work?

They found that the chemical found in Sage is the same one lacking in Alzheimer’s patients. They also found that rosemary herbs had similar effects.

Best way to consume Sage:

The best way to consume sage is via sage oil herb pills or as tea extract.

# 2 – Omega 3 Rich Foods

Omega 3 fatty acids are essential elements in brain function. These fatty acids have recently taken center stage in many health related discussions.

How does omega 3 work?

Omega 3 fatty acids protect the body from cell damage. There are studies that have demonstrated that eating fish improves and repairs damage to brain cells. Another property of Omega 3 is act as anti-inflammatories, which improves blood flow to essential organs like the brain and increase brain performance.

Best way to consume omega 3:

Omega 3 can be found naturally in fish like Salmon, sardines and other seafood’s. If seafood does not appeal to you, there are many supplements available that capture this amino acid in the form of capsules.

# 1 – Gingko Biloba

This is one of the oldest and most used herbs of our times. It is a Chinese herb that has been used in Asia for thousands of years to treat memory loss and other related diseases. The studies on this herb are plentiful.

How gingko biloba works?

This herb works by improving brain circulation and cardiovascular functions. Studies have been conducted and determined that gingko biloba reduces the chances of developing memory problems by nearly 70%. It has also been proved to reverse the effects of memory loss by improving brain function.

Best way to consume Gingko:

There are supplements like Brainalin available which contain the most effective dosages of Gingko Biloba. It can also be consumed as a tea, but it loses some of its minerals in the boiling process.

Conclusion:

If you are suffering from memory loss or you simply want to improve your cognitive performance, you should include the above foods and herbs into your diet. There are many other brain foods that we will cover in later articles, but this is a great list of 4 supplements to start with.

A mind exercise program may improve memory in seniors, at least in the period right after exercising. The studies are the first to demonstrate that doing basic, visual tasks can enhance the precision of short-term memory. The study, led by researchers at UCSF, is also among the first to evaluate both mind effectiveness and adjustments to neural activity caused by cognitive training course.

In the research, healthy elderly individuals trained using a video game built to increase visual understanding. After 10 hrs of training, they not only enhanced their understanding skills considerably, but in addition, elevated the accuracy in their visual operating memory by about 10 % — taking them near the level of younger people. Very few mind training products have gone through demanding research, to show such a transfer of advantages according to the study.

How to Improve Concentration

Operating memory is the power to hold data in your mind in short intervals. It is important to achieve quick tasks, like participating in discussion with a number of people.

The study tracks participants’ brain activity, both before, and after the visual conception training, and found a direct link between enhanced effectiveness, and alterations in brain action.

Following the training, action had lowered in a key brain area associated with digesting visual input. Those who improved the most from the program demonstrated the largest decrease in sensory activity — as if the mind didn’t need to work as hard to ingest information and facts.

Memory enhancement was calculated about seven days following the visual notion training concluded. The scientists didn’t assess just how long the memory enhancement may last past that interval without ongoing training.

An additional test demonstrated that if individuals had to multitask throughout the memory screening, they didn’t get the memory increase from the prior perception training. Our dream is that more research like this continues, so that a cure for some of these degenerative diseases can be found.

Case study included two teams of 15 healthy adults from age 60 to 89. One team took part in the practice. The 2nd group provided the control, taking memory assessments but not the visual notion training. No members had dementia; however, the group showed a variety of mental fitness usual for a maturing population. The typical age was 72. The majority of were university educated, middle-class individuals.

Folks in both teams received a baseline operating memory check composed of observing dots shift through the monitor, accompanied by a short hold off after which re-testing to find out if they recalled exactly where the dots had migrated. The memory examination was presented to each group again following the experimental team had taken part in ten hours of visual understanding training. This training pushed participants to discriminate among different designs of sine waves, going in all directions.

Your research team focused entirely on mind activity considered being associated with handling visual details, in a region known as the visual association cortex positioned at the back of your brain. Nerves at this site produce an inside rendering of what’s viewed. The study team discovered that as peoples’ visual understanding increased, activity created in this area dropped.

As kids, most of us grew up admiring super heroes. Even as adults, we secretly wish we could have super human abilities. Unfortunately, most of these abilities that we see in out childhood heroes are all based in science fiction, but are they…

What if I told you that you can develop superhuman abilities? No, I’m not going to show you how to fly, and I’m not going to tell you to get yourself bitten by a spider so you can become the real Spiderman. But what if there was a way we could learn certain skills that would set you apart from the rest of humanity, what if…

Like many employees here at Brainalin, I have always been fascinated by the power of the brain and looked for ways to enhance it. A few years ago, while conducting some research, I discovered an article on a particular skill that I feel has made me superhuman.

Speed Reading!

If you were expecting me to tell you I could teach you to turn invisible, then I’m sorry to disappoint you, but stay with me and I will show you how speed reading can be an incredible skill to learn.

The average reading speed in the US is between 200 and 300 words per minute. This comes out to about one page every two minutes for the average book. It would take most people over 10 nonstop hours to read thru a 300 page book. If you read for an hour a day, that comes out to 10 days to get thru just one book.

What if I told you that you were born with the ability to read more than 3,000 words per minute or 10 pages per minute? This would equal to a page every 6 seconds. Oh and I forgot to mention that your comprehension of the reading should also increase, even if you are dyslexics.

Does all this sound impossible? Well, it’s not, in fact it’s quite simple. All it takes is some practice and retraining on the way you read. I’m going to give you the tools today; it’s up to you to decide what you want to do with them.

To be able to learn this techniques you will need the following supplies; a book with more than 200 pages, something to point like a pencil, a timer, and 20 minutes of time.

Ready? Let’s get started!

Determine your current reading speed

Before you embark on a journey, you first have to know where you are. The first step of this transformation is to determine where you currently stand when it comes to your reading speed. There are many tools online that will help you do.

Here is a popular one:

http://www.rocketreader.com/demo/flashDemo.html

Write down your current reading speed and let’s go to the next step.

Rereading:

How many times have you found yourself going back to read a few words back to understand what you are reading? The fact is that most of us do this a lot, and most times we don’t even notice it. Going back significantly reduces your reading speed not only because you are reading things twice, but you also lose your reading flow.

To fix this we are going to use out first tool, a pen. Using the back of the pen, underline each line and word as you read and force yourself to not go back. Grab a magazine or book and practice this for a few minutes and don’t worry about comprehension. As you read, try to focus on reading one line every half second which will retrain your reading reflexes.

Yes I know, you probably won’t understand much, but trust me, like most things in life, the more you practice, the better you will get. With some time and practice you will understand and read faster that you ever have.

Subvocalization:

If you are like most people, you are probably sub vocalizing every word you read. Subvocalization is picturing in your mind everything you are reading. This is one of the hardest habits to eliminate because you were trained to read this way when you were young, but with practice, everything is possible.

When you are subvocalizing it is impossible to read faster than you can talk. So how can you fix this? The way to do this is by occupying your mouth. One way is to count 1, 2, 3, 4…1, 2, 3, 4…. as you read. You can also chew gum or hum as you read. It might seem silly but it all works out at the end.

Expand your field of vision:

Most of the words that we read are not important and provide little comprehension. Words like (as, be, the, and, etc…) are not needed to understand what you are reading, yet, they account for most of what you read.

As you read, try to focus on chunks of 3 – 4 words at a time. You might not understand much at first, but you will get better at it.

Practice, Practice, Practice…

The key to speed reading is practice. The more your practice, the faster you will get rid of your old habits and begin reading at superhuman speeds.

The techniques above should help get you on your way to obtaining your first superhuman power.

Best of luck and speed readings…

Stay tuned for other tricks and articles on supercharging your mind. Future articles will include things like, becoming a human lie detector, reading micro expressions and facial signs, learning a new language in days, and much more.

How to Improve Concentration

The medical term for memory loss or unusual forgetfulness is amnesia. Every year over 100,000 people get diagnosed with amnesia. Loosing important memories is no doubt unpleasant and frustrating; however, science has developed memory supplements that can help deal with this disorder to some extent.

It seems that most cases of amnesia get cured naturally, without harsh treatments. There are two kinds of amnesia, permanent and temporary. Research shows three major classes of amnesia: anterograde amnesia , this prevents you from making any further memories after the incident that caused it, retrograde amnesia , this makes you lose your old memories, and hysterical amnesia (or fugue state), this temporarily makes you lose your ability to recognize people or even your own self at times.

As obvious as the symptoms are, medical attention is still needed to diagnose the kind of amnesia one has. The temporary memory loss can be the result of many things, including drugs. In such cases, one may start properly experiencing and remembering the events happening after the effects of the drugs have worn off. This temporary memory loss is caused by many drugs including, benzodiazepines (e.g. Valium and Mogadon) and anticholinergic (e.g. scopolamine).

Other classes of amnesia are caused by serious events in one’s life. If any symptoms are experienced, that person will need immediate medical attention to diagnose and find the best cures available. As stated earlier, science has found cures for these disorders by utilizing memory enhancing supplements and other treatments. There has been much advancement made in the pharmaceutical industry in the past decade. We now have medicines that help us make our memory keeping capacity stronger and firmer. There are memory vitamins, memory supplements and memory enhancers that are used to help us keep our memories sharp and working properly.

There are three main types of vitamins for memory improvement and we recommend you take them on a daily basis. Studies have proven that these vitamins enhance your brain activity and improve memory operations. Along with the vitamins, you have to make sure your diet is healthy and that you take these vitamins with your regular diet to complete your vitamin requirements for that day. There are several vitamins you need to take, the prominent ones being: B Vitamins, Antioxidants and Omega 3 Fatty Acids.

A thorough research proved that B Vitamins serve as a guarding shield in the brain for our neurons. This vitamin breaks down the amino acids that are deadly toxic for the nerve cells in the brain. B vitamins also support a vital brain nutrient: oxygen carriers called the red blood cells. Pills are one way of consuming B vitamins however; these vitamins can also be consumed through natural foods such as soy beans, black beans, broccoli, asparagus, leafy and dark greens, melons and citrus fruits etc. B6, B12 and Folic acid (B9) are the essential B vitamins for memory.

Antioxidants, also known as Vitamins C, E and beta carotene are essential for long term memory. These vitamins break down free radicals, and the process protects the brain from harm. Radicals are injurious oxygen molecules that are a part of our bloodstream. Antioxidant vitamins and memory are connected because the unbroken radicals can impair the functioning of the neurons in your brain to some extent. Just like B vitamins, antioxidants also protect the brain structures from getting damaged. Besides pills, you can consume these vitamins through natural foods like blueberries, strawberries, sweet potatoes, different types of tea, different types of berries and citrus fruits etc. Also, some of the stated foods contain both, meaning B vitamins and Vitamin C and E, therefore, these particular foods can fulfill your vitamin and antioxidants needs.

Let’s move on to the third main type of vitamin, omega 3 fatty acids. Although these do not fall completely in the vitamin group, they are still very vital fat molecules that enrich our brain functions and memory keeping abilities. One might say that fats are harmful for the body, but some fats are good and omega 3 fatty acids is one of those fats. Their job is to avoid excess of cholesterol and inflammation in the brain.

Memory supplements are similar to vitamins, these supplements became rapidly popular, and from then on there has been a very common usage of them. Now, there have been many debates on whether lab made supplements work better than natural supplements, and like everything else each sort of supplement has its own number of believers.

Artificially made memory supplements include; Alpha GPC, Adenosine triphosphate, L-Carnosine, Citicolin, and NADH etc. If you summarize their effects, all of these supplements help the brain in being more effective and enhances memory functions. But like all other chemically made things, these supplements come with side effects, they can cause anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, over stimulation etc. Always make sure you take the right amount of these supplements to avoid these side effects.

Natural supplements are just as famous as chemically made supplements, but natural memory supplements have been around for a very long time. It has been found that natural herbs are usually more effective and causes less harm to the body compared to lab made medicines, they also have fewer side effects, if any. Bacopin and Vinpocetine, are herbs that enhance brain functions and have been proven very effective. Another is the Ginko Biloba, highly used in Europe for some time now; this natural supplement enriches blood circulation, which in more than one ways helps the brain function better.

Supplements like Brainalin cover this natural brain enhancing super vitamins, and many other powerful herbs. Always consider that treatment depends on the cause of the disorder. Traumatic events may leave marks on a person’s mind, hence, psychiatric treatment, sedation, and care might be recommended for this case instead of enhancing ones memory functions. If consumption of alcohol is causing memory loss then the person may need the support of his loved ones and a healthy diet to overcome this condition. In severe cases, immediate help must be taken as these disorders could be fatal. They make people forget who they are, or where they are from and so forth, thus these patients become unable to take care of themselves and need support. Make sure to conduct extended research to determine what treatment fits your best. If your goal is enhancing your memory then give our brain supplement a try.

Doctors can now manipulate the human brain, by using different supplements as a way to boost comprehension and cerebral productivity, and to help deal with numerous psychological ailments that used to require the use of dangerous pharmaceutical drugs. The use of natural supplements can certainly strengthen our mind, memory, and focus and help us cope with all the information we are forced to process on our daily life.

Dietary supplements are useful in many situations. A lot of people report a fear of Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s, in particular if they’ve had families or relatives with these conditions. But these diseases impact a small percentage of the population compared with those that end up with a natural shortage of brain function as they age. Mental decline is experienced at some point by almost everybody. As we grow older our capacity to remember, solve problems, and creativity grows thinner.

Is this decline in mental daily functioning inevitable, or is there something we can do to decelerate, stop, or even reverse this process? New scientific findings show that there are actually nutritional therapies that could have a positive influence in enhancing mental ability. The good news is that these brain vitamin treatments are readily available over the counter.

Even though the causes of memory loss are not fully understood, we now understand that it entails numerous changes within the brain. Thus, to be able to treat memory loss successfully, various elements of brain-cell health have to be addressed at the same time.

What can natural memory supplements do for you?

After many years of studies, scientist have started to spot that natural memory vitamins can increase:

• Alertness and Focus
• Speed of Thoughts and Reaction Time
• Attentiveness and Motivation
• Memory and Creativity
• Cognitive Functions among other things…

Yes, it is now a fact. Some of these products may also improve vision and hearing senses which are closely associated with recognition.

Many doctors are now beginning to recommend natural approaches as therapies for cognitive impairment. Even though natural substances cannot entirely replace the benefits of some pharmaceutical medicines for certain chronic neurological conditions, they present great advantages with minimum to no side-effects. The correct use of supplements may potentially reduce the required dosage of pharmaceutical drugs.

You’ll find doubters who claim, that there’s not such thing as a natural nutritional supplement that will enhance the thinking processes. Whenever I hear an individual saying this, I immediately suspect that this person has little or no professional experience with this memory vitamins or dietary supplements.

Hundreds of studies and countless research have already been published reporting the great results of nourishment, herbal treatments, and supplements when referred to brain enhancement. Many of these natural supplements have been shown to be powerful antioxidants that help prevent or slow the degeneration of brain cells that almost inevitably happens over time.

As concrete and convincing as the results of scientific studies are, many people aren’t entirely convinced that brain memory vitamin pills work until they take them. As soon as you personally see the improvement in mood, memory, energy, thinking ability, and visual perception, you will not need to look into any research to understand that these natural memory vitamins genuinely do work.

Having stated this, I do wish to stress how the brain is a highly complex organ, and much still remains undiscovered about its attributes and nutritional requirements.

As part of an investigation project, one of our researchers downed a white cap with a formula that you probably know as Brainalin. Within an hour, his attentiveness sharpened. So did his memory. He aced a series of mental-agility tests. If his mind power would generally rate a 10, the drug raised it to 15, he stated. “I was really focused,” the physician said. “It was fun.”

The age of smart medicines is dawning. Brainalin is barely one in a wide array of brain-boosting medications – some already on pharmacy shells and other in development, that promises a time of clearer thinking by means of chemistry.

These drugs could alter the way we feel, and by doing so, they may possibly change who we are. Long-haul truckers and Air Force pilots have used amphetamines to chase away drowsiness. Generations of college students have swallowed over-the-counter coffee pills to get through all-nighters. But such stimulants supply just a temporary edge, and their effect is broad and blunt. They boost the brain by juicing the entire nervous system. The new mind-enhancing drug treatments, on the contrary, hold more potent, more targeted and longer lasting enhancements in mental functions.

The new memory boosters originate from studies to develop remedies for Alzheimer’s disease, spinal cord traumas, schizophrenia along with other conditions. But they also reflect rapid advances in understanding the processes of learning and memory in healthy folks.

Within the past twenty years, scientists have produced vital findings about which regions of the mind perform distinct capabilities and how those areas work jointly to absorb, and retrieve information. Experts have started to grasp how and where neurotransmitters are manufactured and which ones are affected by different tasks.

With all this great enhancements, some issues suddenly rise:

Will the rich get smarter and will the poor fall farther behind?

Will men and women feel compelled to utilize the medicines to keep up in college or inside the workplace?

In the world where cerebral function is usually tweaked by having a pill, will “normal intelligence” be changed forever?
